Cody brings expertise in nonprofit operations, strategic partnerships, donor relations, and program management to his role as Vice President of PHHVI. His leadership helps strengthen organizational growth while overseeing critical meal services and community initiatives, ensuring resources are used effectively to serve those experiencing homelessness.

Christina Furlong is a lifelong resident of Payson, Arizona, and a dedicated community leader with over two decades of volunteer service. As a local business owner for more than eight years, she brings practical experience in financial oversight, sustainability planning, and community support to her role with The Warming Center.

Jennifer supports strategic direction, community outreach, and program development. Her compassion and experience enhance community support, allowing the center to effectively provide homeless assistance and expand its reach and impact. She is committed to helping individuals and families find stability, especially through initiatives like the Payson warming shelter.

Brandon Furlong brings entrepreneurial experience, financial insight, and a strong commitment to community support to his role as a Board Member of the Payson warming shelter. In 2025, Brandon joined The Warming Center Board of Directors, where he actively contributes to both the Fundraising Committee and the Financial Committee, focusing on initiatives that enhance homeless assistance.
Our Staff
Cody Freeman — Culinary Director & Acting Executive Director
Cody leads our entire culinary program, ensuring more than eleven thousand meals each year are prepared with consistency, care, and compassion.
He manages kitchen operations, food safety, menu planning, meal distribution, and donation coordination — often working behind the scenes long before guests arrive.
Cody’s leadership, heart, and work ethic are essential to the center. His commitment ensures that every guest receives not just food, but nourishment, dignity, and a moment of comfort during difficult times.
David Coon — Front Desk Manager
David provides direct support to guests through intake, case management, and resource coordination.
He works one-on-one with individuals and families, helping them navigate crisis, access services, and find pathways toward stability and self-sufficiency.
His compassion, organizational skill, and dedication create a welcoming environment where every guest is seen, heard, and supported. David's work is central to connecting people with real help and meaningful solutions.

Serving Payson & Gila County
The Payson Warming Center, operated by PHHVI, is a community-supported nonprofit serving individuals and families in Payson and throughout Gila County. We provide practical assistance, essential resources, and connections to additional services for people experiencing homelessness, housing instability, hunger, and other difficult circumstances.
Our work is made possible by volunteers, donors, local businesses, and community partners who help us ensure that people in need are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Help Without Judgment
People come to the Payson Warming Center for many different reasons. Some are experiencing homelessness. Others are facing a temporary crisis, struggling with food insecurity, living on a fixed income, or simply need help getting through a difficult period.
Our goal is to meet people where they are, provide practical help today, and connect them with resources that can help create greater stability tomorrow.
Adopt a Bed
During the winter months, safe overnight shelter can make a life-changing difference for someone without a warm place to sleep. Our Adopt a Bed program gives community members and businesses a direct way to help support seasonal overnight shelter at the Payson Warming Center.
Contributions help cover the real costs of keeping our winter shelter available when qualifying weather conditions create dangerous conditions for people sleeping outdoors.
